Privacy Notice
How ElderCare Plus handles the personal information you share with us through this website.
About this privacy notice
This notice explains how ElderCare Plus handles personal information collected through this website. It is a preliminary template prepared for a newly established Jamaican business. It has not been legally reviewed, and it must be checked against our actual practices and against the Jamaican Data Protection Act and any other applicable law before launch.
Who we are
ElderCare Plus is a home-based eldercare service operating in Jamaica. We are the data controller for the information described in this notice.
For any question about this notice or about your information, contact us using the client services email address shown in the footer of this website.
Information we collect
Care enquiries: your name, your relationship to the elder, email address, telephone number, parish and general location, preferred contact method, the service category and schedule you are interested in, an anticipated start date, a general description of the assistance required, and your consent and privacy acknowledgements.
Caregiver applications: your full name, email address, telephone number, parish and general area of residence, the professional category you select, whether you have formal caregiving experience, a summary of your experience, a summary of your qualifications and training, your preferred working arrangement, general availability, preferred service areas, a short personal statement, and your consent and privacy acknowledgements.
We do not ask for detailed medical records, national identification numbers, TRNs, bank details or criminal-record details through this website. Further information, where genuinely needed, is requested securely and separately.
Basic technical information may be recorded by the platform that hosts and operates this website in order to keep it secure and working correctly.
How we use your information
To respond to your care enquiry, discuss care requirements and prepare a personalised quotation where appropriate.
To assess your caregiver application, contact you about recruitment opportunities and consider you for suitable assignments.
To keep records of enquiries, applications and any concerns raised, so that we can follow up responsibly.
To meet our legal, safeguarding and accountability obligations where they apply.
Consent and your choices
Both forms ask for your consent to be contacted. You may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us, and we will stop contacting you about the relevant enquiry or application. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer progress an enquiry or an application.
Who can see your information
Enquiry and application records are stored in a private area of our system. Access is restricted to authorised ElderCare Plus administrators, and that restriction is applied by the system itself rather than only by hiding it in the interface.
We do not publish enquiry or application information. Testimonials are published only where a family has given permission, and we obtain appropriate consent before publishing personal details, photographs or anything that could identify a client.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Where it is necessary to support a care arrangement, relevant details may be shared with the caregiver who would provide the care, and only to the extent needed. Where a professional is involved in an assessment or in clinical care, relevant details may be shared with them for that purpose.
We may disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary to protect someone from serious harm.
Internal notification emails deliberately do not include personal details — they tell our team that a new record exists and ask them to sign in to review it.
Retention and deletion
We keep enquiry and application information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and for any period we are required to keep records by law. When it is no longer needed, we delete or securely dispose of it.
You can ask us to delete your enquiry or application information, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
Security
We use the security controls provided by the platform on which this website is built, including authenticated administration access and record-level access restrictions. Information is transmitted over an encrypted connection.
No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will take appropriate steps, which may include notifying you and the relevant authority.
Your rights
Subject to Jamaican law, you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent you have given.
To make a request, contact us using the client services email address in the footer. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The platform that hosts it may use strictly necessary storage to keep you signed in to the administration area and to operate the site securely.
If we add tools that require consent, we will update this notice and provide appropriate controls before doing so.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our practices develop. The current version always appears on this page.
